Daegu Metropolitan City is recruiting more than 80 volunteers who will take part in the 2010 Colorful Festival in six categories, including event organizing, performance, guiding and information, public relations, safety and administrative assistance, through July 31. The festival will be conducted as a pre-cultural event for the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2010.

○ People eligible to apply as volunteers are Korean nationals, overseas ethnic Koreans and foreigners residing in Korea, age 18 or older, who have keen interest in outdoor activities and festivals. Anyone who can engage in festival operations for three days or longer during the festival period can apply.

○ Applicants can download the application form from Daegu Metropolitan City’s website, and submit their applications through various channels, including online (www.daegu.go.kr), by mail, or fax (☎053-803-3729)

○ Following a document screening and interview review process, successful applicants will be announced on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 on the city’s website or will be individually contacted. The finalists will undergo training sessions for learning basic quality and vocational skills, before being deployed to the festival site.
