Daegu City said it hosted the 6th Korea-China-Japan Youth Education and Tourism Forum from Dec. 26 to 29. The event was jointly organized with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
The Korea-China-Japan Youth Education and Tourism Forum was formed on June 2007, following a trilateral summit of tourism ministers, with the objective of encouraging educational programs and cross-cultural exchanges. This year’s forum was aimed at boosting youth educational travel programs and expanding tourism. The forum, held at the Inter-Burgo Hotel, brought together about 300 participants related to government, education, and travel.
The forum opened with a welcome dinner that featured a performance by the Daegu Education Center for the Gifted and the Daegu Metropolitan Opera. On Dec. 27, participants from government and the private sector held meetings in the morning. The participants, in the afternoon, then had the chance to visit Gyeseong High School and Gyeongbuk Technical School.
The program also included a tour around an arboretum, Duryu Park and Nokdong Seowon, Gugwanmo Vinegar Museum, Seomun Market, Donghwasa Temple, and Daegu Stadium.
