The Daegu Trade Association Center – much-awaited by the local business community -- celebrated the completion of its construction on Thursday (Feb. 9), Daegu City said.
The new Daegu Trade Association Center, built solely with a budget provided by the trade association, is an ultramodern, smart building standing 18 stories high with seven stories below ground. Daegu is the fourth non-metropolitan region, following Busan, Gwangju, and Cheongwon, to have a trade center. The Daegu Trade Association Center is larger than its other three counterparts, according to Daegu City.
The new building is expected to help integrate trade-related organizations and bodies and, thereby, more efficiently and promptly provide information on exports and imports, while serving as a one-stop support center. Daegu City said the center will help serve to invigorate regional trade and foster skilled trade professionals.
In line with the government’s green-growth policies, the trade center has been built with a renewable energy power-generation system, such as with solar energy. The eco-friendly and energy-efficient facility features an eco-park roof, an indoor garden, and a pleasant working environment.
The birth of the trade center is expected to attract trade-related agencies and businesses to the Dongdaegu area. And its proximity to the Daegu Chamber of Commerce, Techno Park, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Design Center, and the currently developing Dongdaegu area multi-complex transit center is expected to help promote a synergistic effect and become the main business valley.
