Intro :
This three-storied stone pagoda stands in front of Daejeokgwangjeon, the main hall of Biroam Hermitage, which belongs to the Donghwasa Temple. The pagoda, also called Minaedaewang Pagoda, is of the Unified Silla period (668-935). During repairs in 1967, a sarira box (a box that preserves the relics of the Buddhist monks) was found on top of the first story. The hole held a part of gilt-bronze container and a miniature gold-leafed wooden pagoda. This is National Treasure No. 247 designated on June 15, 1942.
